Hosting a Baby Shower
A couple of weekends ago two girlfriends and I hosted a baby shower, at our house, for our friend who is due with a boy in July. This was technically my first time hosting a shower myself, however, my mom is the queen of shower hosting (aka she should be a caterer) and all the help I've lent her over the years paid off in hosting myself.
We split the duties up, one was in charge of decor/invites, one was in charge of drinks/games, and I was in charge of food.
The party was on a Saturday morning so we wanted to go with a brunch theme so I brainstormed a bit and came up with a menu:
- Bagel Bar: Toasted Assorted Bagels, Cream Cheese, Sliced Tomato, Sliced Cucumber, Avocado, Lemons, & Capers
- Egg Casserole: Inspired by a strata my mother-in-law made at Easter, this one was full of tomatoes, gruyere, swiss, and fresh herbs
- Chicken & Waffles: We used ego minis & already fried chicken plus a drizzle of syrup
- Baby Boy Fruit Salad: Including blueberries, blackberries, and red grapes
